- 2 cans baked beans, I use Heinz or Bushes tomato base or maple syrup
- 5 strips of bacon, diced
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 sweet onion, diced If you don't have a sweet onion on hand, use yellow
- ½ cup unsulphered molasses
- ½ cup ketchup
- ½ brown sugar
- 1 tbsp liquid smoke
- 2 tbsp Worcestire sauce
- 2 tsp prepared yellow mustard
Preheat oven to 325℉
Pour canned beans into oval oven proof dish
In a medium pan, fry diced bacon, onion, and garlic. Cook until bacon is crisp and onion is tender. Remove from heat and add to navy beans. (do not drain)
Add molasses, ketchup, brown sugar, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, and yellow mustard. Whisk well. Pour into oval dish with beans and bacon mixture. Stir to combine.
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
